In January 2026, I didn't know what HTML was. I'd never written a line of code, never deployed a website, never called an API.
But I was obsessed with stocks — and I couldn't find a free tool that gave me everything in one place. Professional platforms cost thousands. Free ones were too basic. So I decided to build exactly what I wanted.
I taught myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how APIs work by Googling everything and breaking things constantly. Every feature on CapitalSignal exists because I personally wanted it and had no idea how hard it would be to build.
Six months later: 40+ pages, 120+ features, zero prior experience, and a platform I use every day.
